OHSU Professor David Dorr Wins AMIA 2007 New Investigator Award (November 13, 2007)
David Dorr, M.D., assistant professor of medical informatics and clinical epidemiology at the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine, has received the 2007 New Investigator Award at the annual symposium of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) in Chicago.

The award – presented at the AMIA leadership dinner on Nov. 10 – is given annually in recognition of an individual’s early informatics contributions and significant scholarly contributions on the basis of scientific merit and research excellence....    more

OHSU Physician To Address U.S. Special Senate Committee On Aging

On May 9, 2007, David Dorr, MD, MS, a faculty member and Hartford grantee at the Oregon Health & Science University, provided written testimony to the Senate Special Committee on Aging entitled “Care Coordination for Older Adults with Complex Chronic Illness.”  In his testimony, he discusses the crisis in chronic illness and the ways in which care coordination, especially through the use of information technology, can help manage chronic illness.
